I love being creative outside of work, but that's why I prefer numbers. You can gather all the data and let the numbers speak for themselves for the most part.
Interpreting those numbers is a little more difficult to do sometimes and is much better done in a group with differing opinions on what they mean. That's when I hit that wall or messy room if you will. Trying to come up with answers to a problem when you have all the numbers, but are trying to accomplish the task by yourself.
I like the interpretation of numbers. Actually part of the solution to my problem is going to require some work with numbers to build understanding for the customer. Luckily, I don't have to do the work as my number crunching skills are less than poor. =)
