It IS super maddening. The government has gone out of it's way to try and make up for past treatment of the aborigines, is that part of the problem? Our government should try to do that for the Indians here.

I think that's part of it yes..any feel they should be treated exactly the same as anyone else...But they are not.

You mean it has swung the other way, they get treated BETTER, right?

They enjoy many consolations that other Australian people are not afforded. Seems a little unfair that general Australians can't benefit from the same...

I get that, very true. It's amusing to watch governments try to do the right thing with the right intentions but they almost always fail and most of the time ends up making things worse.

That's exactly what has happened. I mean, they are trying to make up for things that happened 200 years ago by affording them concessions however, with each, they create a wider chasm. I don't really know much about it though...I just shut off...Its not on my radar because people who want to be treated differently, and get handouts, due to stuff that happened 200 years ago seem like assholes to me. I mean...Where's my handouts for what happened to my relatives, Neanderthal man, became extinct 40,000 years ago? Where's my cheap home loan, free health insurance...Preferred-employment status...

lol.exactly. It's like some of the dummi presidential candidates are talking about reparations to the blacks for slavery. How idiotic.

Yeah, watch the flood gates open if that happens. World gone mad.
