Our Christmas obligations are done, my brother, his wife and son have been farewelled and sent on their 4,500km road-trip home and Faith and I are not due at work until the new year...Sounds like we're all set for...
...Not much at all!
The summer holidays are always a time for us to simply relax and take a break; No plans are laid, no commitments made and no are schedules set. We are on a strict freestyle journey for the next couple of weeks and whatever happens will...Well, will happen I guess, and that's how we like it.
So, what might be on the cards for us? Well, considering the weather will be pushing 40°C (over 100F) for the next several days we'll focus on some indoor activities like catching up with some shows on TV, (Britannia to start with), maybe starting a new one or two and heading to the movies to catch a few flicks that we want to see; The last Star Wars film, Ford V's Ferrari and the World War One flick called 1917 are on the list...Of course these activities will involve eating snacks and meals and we have a few target eateries in mind, some old favourites and some new.
I have some Lego to build and Faith wants to catch up on some reading and painting also, she paints in watercolour, so overall it'll be a fairly laid-back and relaxed couple of weeks before we head back to work.
I'll be posting of course, that sort of goes without saying, and will keep you up to date with the latest happenings and my thoughts along the way.
What are you guys up to over the next several days? Are you off work and if so what's planned...Or not planned as in our case. I'd been keen to know, and to hear what you crazy nutbags get up to over this holiday season.
Pictured you can see Faith standing on the Jetty at Brighton, South Australia and looking back to the shore. I'm not sure what she was thinking right then, probably was just glad not to be at work...I was thinking, "stop staring into space and start heading to the fish and chip shop." Yep, I was hungry...As often always happens.

Today was meant to be Daddy/ Daughter day and we were going to go for coffee together, but Smallsteps is ill with a flu and I was up most of the night with her. Not sure if we will make it into the city yet. Back to work on Monday though.
She's sick again? I saw a video from Boxing day and she looked a little under the weather. Give her a hug from me.
Sounds really nice! I just did some more work on our driveway, and now chilling on the couch. We had our last family obligation yesterday, and now we will be chillen as well. Have a bunch of chores to do around here so I’ll probably make some firewood and clean up the yard (we had some windstorms last week).

Ah yeah, chores...I have some to do also...Too damned hit though. It's daylight saving time here though so I guess I could do some later in the evening. Enjoy the couch!

Down time with no plans, doesn't get any better then that. Just go with the flow @galenkp. With the family visiting our plans are to eat, drink, and be merry. I started trimming the trees yesterday and today, with some help we should be able to trim another 50 or so. Very warm here, 40 degrees F. It would be great to get all of the trees trimmed in this balmy weather.

Hmm, yes I can imagine how 33 (91F) would seem preferable. We have some amazing beaches here in Adelaide as you can see and as Aussies we make the most of them. You're welcome to come down and share! 😊
Sounds like you have it all (nothing ?) planned out. I only get Christmas day and New Years day off so I will be working most of the next week. So, enjoy your time off, someone has to.

Next few days I think we’re going to do some gardening and other outdoor work if we can get some amenable temperatures to work in, and I’m going to try to sort out the house properly (including finally hanging numerous pictures which we didn’t do because we thought we were going to be moving house and then we didn’t move) but that’s a super long project 😅
And I have work I want to catch up on (I’m years being so that’s not going to happen 🤣) and homeschool miscellany to catch up on also (made harder because my phone and computer don’t really like talking to each other but that needs doing soon because I have moderator visit next month 😵).
We may even squeeze in a few more beach trips and other family shenanigans while J is off work but will see how things go.
Seems like you have a lot to keep you going...We have some of the same, some organising in the house and all. Just got back from the market. Bloody hot out there...Might need a nice block now, just to cool me down. 😊

We haven't done too much over the break. It's been 40+ degrees so we're just relaxing in the AC. Went to the beach last night though and am going to see Star Wars tonight...And I'll eat naughty food there too! 😂

What a great nonschedule sir galenkp! I've heard about the movie 1917 but don't know anything except it's about WWI and don't even know who's in it so maybe you'll do a post about it.
I will almost certainly post about it. I'm a war historian by hobby, not profession so movies like this always capture my interest. I'm looking forward to seeing it which will probably happen this weekend.

Midway was an extremely well-documented battle so there would have been much information for movie-makers to draw from. I think though, that Hollywood change history to suit their own needs...It's unfortunate that many people get their historical facts from Hollywood movies...They are often not quite right.
Yes that's very sad. Like the Wild West. I've done several myth-busting posts and people are like "No way, that can't be right!" lol. But anyway, you're sayin you haven't seen Midway yet?

I was totally shocked when I saw my name up there because I didn't do much the whole year. I mean compared to the year before, I think I had a couple of intense months then backed way off.
