The cost of specailist medication is ridiculous and I know our private covers if it is on the chronic list. Our healthcare has increased in price over the last five years and to be honest don't even know what is and isn't covered anymore. Normally our health provider runs out in about August ,but this year we ran out months ago and we haven't done much. I need to make loads more so we don't cut back on the medical sides of things. This is one place you don't want to be booked in to a government hospital. I hope things improve and your wife's medicine arrives back in stock soon.
The healthcare in Finland is pretty good for some things, terrible for others. We have been a bit unlucky with some of the things for our daughter where they don't cover. We have private too but, they fall in a gap.
As for the medicine, it really sucks as even when we do have the chance to go and eat well, she can't. This weekend we are doing an overnight cruise for her parent's birthdays and have dinner booked. She will eat some potatoes and rice perhaps :)
