Before anyone noticed it, or maybe, they already have seen the
Bright pink slip covering the peep hole
There’s only cold water running through the fossettes, better than no water at all I guess
The lights are off, dead from losing the electricity in their veins
We scratch matches to light subtle candle fires, what remains of the food has gone sour
We play board games to past the hours, but were all aware the day will come
When this house is no longer ours, but our home shall last forever
A roof isn’t needed to be together with those I cherish
