THE MYSTERIOUS CAVE

Marcus! Marcus! Marcus!

Zoe yelled as her voiced echoed through the cave. She became worried like a grandma whose matured son is out on a cold Friday night.

Trying to be rational... I'm sure he is fine

But no that sinister feeling says to her that he is probably dead and it is all her fault.

She thought about jumping but the distance is way too far.

The only thing she could think off was the earlier idea she had of getting help.

This is a bloody mess. Oh! Fuck me

Marcus! she called out his name again louder than before in hopes that her voice will scan the cave thereby reaching out to him.

Zoe rushed out at once to go find some help.

Running through the dark cave by guiding her way with the walls. She had memorized the path they came through.

The more she moved the more visible her path was from the ray of light that entered the cave.

To her astonishment there were no animals in the cave.

What?

The fire they set-up for themselves in the cave was no longer there.

It was like nothing ever happened.

As she came out of the cave. Rising out like a vampire on a bad day.

The sun shone on her. She quickly covered her sight with her hand for the light was too much for her eyes to handle at the moment as her retina adjusted to it.

It was daytime. Today was already tomorrow.

Hey! a uniform man called out to her. Are you George Sorras's daughter?

She was still in confusion. And could not alter a word. The other uniform man recognized her immediately. WE HAVE FOUND HER.

The search party came charging towards her. 4 men in black costumes, 2 police officers and 2 agents from people’s security.
All came rushing at her with multiple questions like in the white house press conference. Coupled with the obvious questions she was totally expecting but not ready to answer.

Where have you been? Where did you go? Who were you with?

Are you hurt? What happened to your phone?

Answer the questions your lady.

Zoe stood still and lifeless. Then she spoke up.

I was with Marcus last night. We were taking shelter at the cave when the rains came pouring heavily. She explained the event as it is but could not make any explanation for the time lapse.
Hurry up she said. He is stuck down there in the cave.

Hold your horse’s young lady Agent Farris said in an interrogative manner. This is not the time for this let’s get Marcus some help then we would answer every question.
George Sorras was the scene but from a distance just observing the situation. Cooling his hanger as he smoked his tobacco.
They got into the cave search the entire place as she had described. It was no match.
It was just a small cave with thick walls as it has always been says Agent Farris. There was nothing in her statement that correlated to what she said.
We are here because we tracked your last phone signal to this place. Where is your phone?

She stuttered…still in awe of what was happening. It is with Marcus.

Who is Marcus the policemen interrupted getting impatient. The bouncers were in a protective ode taking there stand at her side.

Marcus…Marcus Starvou. You mean to say you were with Joseph Starvou’s son all night.

Yes, that right she said.

Till your story checks out we will be placing you as a suspect to an ongoing murder case that happened around this part within the last 24hours. Your alibi is this Marcus.

But Marcus is in the cave. She left there scene and returned to the cave after the officers had done that. She felt even more stupid because it was just as they said.

Zoe’s father was whispering to another man. She saw them from distant but could not discern what they were saying.
They all got into the vehicles and off they were to the Starvou’s resident.

THE NIGHT AT THE STRARVOU’S RESIDENT BEFORE TE JUMP

Joseph was furious that Marcus is yet to return home with the herds. That boy is surely gonna die when I lay my hands on him. He never gets anything right. What is he even good for?

His mum was more worried that her son was out there in the cold heavy stormy rain. I should have let Anthony take care of this. He better not come home tonight Joseph said.

While listen to his radio. The weather report stated that the weather was disastrous out there on the hills. The hot headed father suddenly became lore worried about the safety of his son but his poker face did not give him away. Anthony volunteered to step into the rain to find his brother.
Their mother forbidden it saying they should pray that he is safe and protected. Their mum being a woman of faith believed her son will be protected. They all tried to stay up late but ended up sleeping in different positions in their living room till the day break.

They were woken up by a heavy knock on their door. Apparently, the visitors have been knocking for several, minutes with no one answering hence the increase in the door knock sound.

FLASH FORWARD

THE PRESENT

He looked at the figurine not knowing how he got a hold of it. Everything felt messy to him and not understanding what was happening. He went into his room gazing at the figurine hoping to make a meaning out it.

Some moments later, his brother came knocking at his door. He hid the satyr under his pillow before his brother let himself in.

Where were you last night? We were worried about you and how did you get herds back safe in the middle of the storm?

Marcus gave him the same reply as he did to the officer that interrogated him.

You know I am here for you brother. You can talk to me. Anthony stepped out.

To his amazement his parent never spoke a word to him or ask him about what happened and all.

Marcus felt a void in him. That he was missing something and could not explain it.

The only thing that triggered in his mind was the look on Zoe’s face. It was like they had a bond which he could not relate with.

Marcus’ soliloquy begins with Zoe is in some sort of trouble. Why should I care?

Why were they here?

As he was in the middle of this he noticed the satyr glowing….

NOW WHAT!

What will happen to Zoe?

Is there going to be a romantic break through between Marcus and Zoe?

Will the Zoe be freed from the case?

HEHEHE just adding some complications and more excitement to the story in case my entry tops or wins.
