Oh Johleen! I actually edited out a bit about the character getting bitten by something... looks like he was destined to be attacked by some sort of sea beastie regardless!

I'm guessing you're not much of a swimmer?
I'm not, but mostly the idea of rhyming "swim" with "slim" got stuck in my head and the only thing I could think of calling slim was the chance of something, and swimming out to the chest seemed the most obviously chancy proposition. :)
