A Mother's Love
Sometimes there are situations that break my heart. Yeah, you heard that right. I have a Yeti sized heart that hurts when others hurt. The last couple of days have been kind of rough.
As I have mentioned in another post, there is a mom that is not doing well. The calf was born healthy, and the first couple of days were good. A couple days ago the mom, Yonder, laid down. Her back legs look like they are having some serious issues.
We have been caring for her each day, and making her as comfortable as we can. This was a picture for this morning. Stacie D (@freedomtowrite) was helping Yonder with some fresh water, and I caught this moment of her loving on her.
It doesn't matter what species we are. When something hurts, we feel it. We are all created in a certain way that connects us all. Knowing what future is coming for Yonder never gets easier...

Watching an animal suffering and not knowing what exactly is wrong or how to help them is one of the worst parts of living on a farm/homestead, its never fun when it happens. When our grand-puppy Shadow got hit by a car last winter and my handsome husband found him in the ditch it broke my heart, I imagine everyone feels that same way about Yonder, hopefully, Lord willing, its a case of postpartum depression and she recovers soon. :D
