The Hive Votes and rewards,

Howdy folks'.
The intention of this post is to explore a vote and its reward.
As the voting happens first, I will start there and end with the rewards. each part of this post is about you. to who you vote to or who votes to you. The ambition, to show value of your vote and rewards breakdown on a basic level.

We are all going to have different levels of SP, and the reward value will vary according to the price of Steem on the exchanges. We will work with set value's to these for the purpose of this post.

Your vote.

First of all. Your vote counts, no matter your SP level.

Your vote is made up of three parts,
Steem power,
Your Steem Power determines your vote value. This is the maximum vote value you can give from your vote.
We are going to assume you are working of an Steem Power of 15, This is the amount of Steem you have powered up or have being delegated. This amount can be seen in your wallet in Steemit.

Your voting weight,.
You can check your voting weight at https://steemd.com/@thehive or https://steemworld.org/@thehive to view your own statistics change "thehive" in the address to your name.

Your voting power
Your vote power will be started at 100%. This is the percentage of votes you have used, each vote will reduce this amount by 2% of its total. Voting at 100% here, will mean 2% is taken away and this value will be reduced to 98%. A consecutive vote will reduce this by another 2% of the total value. 2% of 98% is less than 2% of 100% and will reduce by a small numerical value but a constant 2% of current value. 98% minus 2% will bring your voting power to 96.04% another vote will reduce this to 94.12%
Steemit will replace this drop in your voting power over a 24 hour period to a maximum of 20%
Allowing 10 votes at 100%
Each vote the reward value will also drop slightly.

The vote weight used will be 100%
Your vote weight can be altered by you. This is not recommended if you have an SP lower than 50. At 50 SP it is recommended not go go below a 50% vote, Lower than this and you reduce your chances of gain curation from the votes you share.
Adjustments to this slider while you have a low SP will decrease the rewards you share to each post and negate your chances for a reward.
https://Busy.org is one of the sites that permits members with less than 500 SP to adjust their voting value.

You have just logged in, You over-slept and all your Voting Power is back to 100%
You have 15 SP and are voting with 100% of your weight, 10 votes per day.

At the current exchange rate of 1.41 for 1 Steem.
Vote 1. Reward 0.00128. this is how much you will contribute to the reward for this post.
Vote 2. Reward 0.00125
Vote 3. Reward 0.00123
Vote 4. Reward 0.00120

You can see why using a slider to adjust your vote weight is not beneficial to anyone at this level.

Let's take a look at another example.
Keeping the vote weight and VP at 100% to start. But using 100 SP as a base level.
At the same exchange rate of 1.41 for 1 Steem.
Vote 1. Reward 0.0085
Vote 2. Reward 0.0083
Vote 3. Reward 0.0082
Vote 4. Reward 0.0080

Around this time it might be advantageous to begin to explore the slider a bit more. Giving a bit more freedom with votes. The use of the slider will increase the quantity of votes you can give. At the price used for this post 1.41 for 1 Steem 117 SP is needed to reward 0.01

These votes are below the threshold set by Steemit for a payout reward. The threshold is set at 0.019 any lower get swept away. It is worth to note here, That a display of 0.02 on a post can have an value lower to as low as 0.015 and below the payout threshold.
You can make use of @dustsweeper to sweep these rewards up for you with a vote. This is an asset to growth no matter what size your account SP is.

Your reward day 7

You waited all week and your post paid off. If you have selected to get payment in all Steem, other then the curaton reward this section. It is more directed towards members with a payout set to 50 / 50.

When you set your reward payout to 50 / 50 you receive 50% in Steem and 50% in liquid SBD or liquid SBD and liquid Steem.
25% of the reward always goes to the curation trail of voters. Those who have voted to your post will share that 25%. The other 75% goes to you.

Let's take a look at a payout reward of 1.00 and see how it breaks down.

If the reward payout is equal to 1.00. with 25% going straight to the curators.
You will be left with a reward of 0.75.
50% of this will go straight to Steem and leave a balance of the other 50% in liquid SBD and Steem.
As the price of SBD rises, these rewards will turn to SBD only, As the price lowers these rewards turn to be more Steem.

This is a basic breakdown of how your vote and rewards work. There are more varying details which can complicate the maths. This give s a general outline.
