He passed the murano lighthouse at :36, then turns. Still at 36, you can see him moving away from san marco. You can tell he's east of the south shore because you can see the basilica and the clocktower on the shore there. (you can tell hes looking behind him because of the boats wake).

He goes south through the channel between certosa and venice proper. At :39 we see him leave the lido ferry in his wake.

At :40, hes headed south along the west shore of lido. He turns in at the second inlet, then heads under via sandro gallo, and pulls up in the:
