SteemGlobal treasure hunting

A few people here on steemit liked or were interested at the idea of a treasure hunting game, in which the winner would get a portion of the author rewards. I deeply believe in sharing rewards to those participating.
That is the reason why most are here on steemit isn't it?

However, with a small community that has a lot of growing to do, it had some limitations.
Seeing some of it limitations, it was time to go back to the drawing board.

This update keeps a lot of the same concepts of the proof of concept game.

One of the main limitations of the treasure hunt was the audience for the game.
Another limitation was the limited size of community the proof of concept was aiming at the steemit community and at the same time, it was attempting to grow steemit by attracting new users all while earning earning money.

While it sounded great, it was important to focus on the steemit community first and later focus on growing thegame SteemGo.

Those limitations in the proof of concept, opened up a lot more options and ideas that I couldn’t have initially imagined.

Steemit Concerns

In the little over the week that I have been on steemit, I have read many post concerning the balance of power. Here on steemit its influenced largely by whales while minnows have a hard time getting noticed.
Another concern that I have read multiple times about here on steemit is “Flow”.

This update tries to address some of those issues.

Update

 * Play anywhere, anytime with technology currently available.
 * It is no longer limited by location
 * Anyone with a computer or smartphone can play
 * Flow

Rules updated

In order to play and win you must upvote this post and comment to win.

• Go to manatee park take a picture next to the pirate manatee and make a post about it. The winner of this challenge gets 50% of all of the author rewards of this post. SteemLocal
• You can now look in google maps, google earth etc. to find the photo. If you find it, write in the comments the coordinates where you found the photo. Winner of the SteemGlobal challenge will get 50% of the author rewards for this post if no one wins the previous challenge
• If there are two winners, one for each challenge. Then the 50% will be split in a 70/30 ratio. First one to win gets 70% of the 50 and the second would get the other 30%

Going Global

It is hard to unchain ourselves from our local surroundings. One of the main limitations with the proof of concept.
In order to play globally, I thought of the current technology that we have and the things we can do with it.
This is where Google comes in. We are currently able to upload photos to Google Earth and Google Maps.

• This is exiting as we can play a treasure hunt in the entire globe without a need to leave the comfort of our homes
• Treasures could be hiding all around us.
• Exploring the world is also optional
  
  I can do another post if anyone needs help uploading pictures to google earth/maps. A simple search online should show you how to do it though.

Transparency

With a social crypto community like Steemit there are some things many like. One of them is transparency. Steemit along with Bitcoin are based on blockchain technology which is all open sourced.
There is also one thing that no one wants, that is bad reputation. If you try to scam anyone, the community can make sure you are not successful here in steemit.

With that said, I will do a post naming the winner(s) and will show proof of transfer of steem dollars.
Others playing the game and even people interested in thegame can also be used to verify this claims.

Since nobody won the previous game
It is still at the same location as the previous proof of concept.
But now you don’t need to live or even visit Florida to be a winner.
All you need is a cellphone with access to google maps or any computer.

Minnows and Flow

You are encourage to play the game and you have as much chance as a whale of winning.
You are encouraged to make your own version of the game or a follow up of this version and post it in the comments.
Work together and upvote good versions of the game.

Why is it important to upvote?

Upvoting will not only increase the share that goes to the winner(s) but it also encourages others to make their own version of the game. It is often called sportsmanship in many games, even as you are competing, you want to support others that are playing the game. You can’t play this game alone and its not the point to play alone. It is to grow the community in an interactive yet engaging way.
