Podemos ser abejas - We can be bees (Español/English)

Las abejas son conocidas en el mundo por elaborar uno de los más ricos alimentos probados por el hombre: la miel.

Un delicioso desayuno o un postre jugoso suele estar acompañado de tan dulce producto. Sin embargo, hablando de las abejas, también se les conoce por otra cualidad igualmente apreciable: su capacidad de trabajar en equipo.

Todos sabemos que existe un abeja reina que gobierna el panal. Las caricaturas y películas infantiles nos muestran a una regente sabia que da instrucciones a las obreras y dirige con diligencia a su ejército, pero esto no es cierto.

La abeja reina no da instrucciones a los demás miembros del panal, no dirige un consejo de ministros para tomar decisiones. Su trabajo es, en esencia, poner huevos.

Todas las abejas siguen su instinto, ese código de comportamiento con el que fueron creadas, para atender cada una su propio trabajo dentro del panal.

Aquí es donde encontramos ese gran ejemplo a seguir. El trabajo de una sola abeja quizá no sea significativo, pero el trabajo sumado de muchas abejas sí lo es. Lo interesante de estos insectos es que al desempeñar sus funciones, lo hacen de tal manera que no se estorban entre sí, y cada abeja complementa la labor de las demás.

Supongamos por un momento que cada uno de los miembros de nuestra comunidad es una abeja, pensemos en nuestro equipo como un gran panal. ¿Cuántos usuarios conformamos el grupo? ¿Conocemos bien sus nombres?.

Pensemos en la idea de que yo, personalmente, me tome la molestia diaria de leer y comentar y votar a un par de miembros de mi grupo o comunidad (sea esta La Alianza o alguna otra). Mis esfuerzos serían casi imperceptibles, si mi grupo es enorme, no haré mucha diferencia. Pero si todos los miembros del grupo hacen lo mismo, entonces, como las abejas, lograríamos mucho a favor de todos. Un usuario podría llevarse la sorpresa de que su post fue visitado y comentado por unas 200 personas en el transcurso de una semana y que en realidad le dejaron una recompensa significativa según el valor cultural de sus esfuerzos.

Desde luego es solo una idea más en este gigantesco mar de mentes brillantes. Lo cierto es que el ejemplo lo tenemos allí, en estos pequeños seres que no necesitan que nadie les ordene u obligue a actuar. Los seres humanos somos más inteligentes que las abejas, así que seguro valoraremos mucho más la importancia del verdadero trabajo en equipo.

Bees are known in the world for making one of the tastiest foods tested by man: honey.

A delicious breakfast or a juicy dessert is usually accompanied by such a sweet product. However, speaking of bees, they are also known for another equally appreciable quality: their ability to work as a team.

We all know that there is a queen bee that rules the honeycomb. The cartoons and children's films show us a wise regent who gives instructions to the workers and directs their army diligently, but this is not true.

The queen bee does not instruct the other members of the honeycomb, does not lead a council of ministers to make decisions. Her work is, in essence, to lay eggs.

All the bees follow their instinct, that code of behavior with which they were created, to attend each one their own work inside the honeycomb.

This is where we find that great example to follow. The work of a single bee may not be significant, but the combined work of many bees is. The interesting thing about these insects is that when they perform their functions, they do it in such a way that they do not get in the way of each other, and each bee complements the work of the others.

Suppose for a moment that each of the members of our community is a bee, think of our team as a big honeycomb. How many users make up the group? Do we know their names well?

Let's think about the idea that I, personally, take the daily trouble of reading and commenting and voting for a couple of members of my group or community (be it The Alliance or some other). My efforts would be almost imperceptible, if my group is huge, I will not make much difference. But if all the members of the group do the same, then, like the bees, we would achieve much in favor of everyone. A user might be surprised that his post was visited and commented by about 200 people over the course of a week and that in fact they left a significant reward according to the cultural value of their efforts.

Of course it is just one more idea in this gigantic sea of brilliant minds. The truth is that the example we have there, in these little beings that do not need anyone to order or force them to act. Human beings are more intelligent than bees, so we will surely value much more the importance of true teamwork.
