Joining #thealliance; Something I Look Forward To
Source
Ideally, I was supposed to have applied to join @thealliance a while ago. But for some reason, I felt I wasn't quite ready and didn't have enough to offer to the community.
My name is Paul Gamsam. I joined Steem in December 2017 and I just turned 60.
Not my age silly, my reputation score. :P
Last year, my resolution was to build up on talents and skills I had acquired and to also make some advancements financially. Towards the end of year, I realized I hadn't really done so much about any of them. Then I found Steem and got to work towards achieving the two at once.
Initially, I had the wrong ideas about Steem. With time and with the help of the right communities I joined, I've been able to learn a lot to help me achieve my goals. I believe with the right communities and interactions, one will be able to grow while helping others grow as well, TOGETHER.
How I found #thealliance.
Technically, I never really found the alliance at one place. That's understandable since it's an alliance. :P
I found their allies, members talking about it on discord, the footers on their posts particularly @enginewitty.
Well, it seemed to be great community where people help each other, so I decided to find out how to join.
Why I want to join #thealliance.
I would like to join #thealliance firstly because I have something to offer. I believe it is necessary to first be able to offer something to community and not be at the receiving end at all times. I would like to help others like me as they help me as well so we can grow together.
I have been on Steem for four months and have been able to acquire sufficient knowledge that has helped me grow. I want to be able to offer this knowledge and help to others, and learn from them as well.
What I have to offer
Below is what I've been offering to the Steem community at large -
- I am a writer, a Haiku poet precisely.
- I also write short stories and prose.
- I am the Newbie guide of a project here on Steem called @steem9ja so I make guides to using Steem and also some expositions about really cool Steem Projects.
- I host a weekly Altcoins4U™ contest where altcoins are given to minnows. This is in ploy to encourage newbies and show them Steemit has more to offer. The giveaways are cosponsored by @pjay96 & @underground.
- I am also a digital graphics designer.
I believe my skills would be able to help others especially in a tight knit family like #thealliance. I believe in the power of community and want to be able to help this one grow even stronger in the ways I can.
That being said, I hope my request will be duly considered as I am really enthusiastic about joining #thealliance.
