I've always loved frost patterns, which as a Sunbelt baby were a rarity for me, but how can you not love something so incredibly beautiful and interesting?

Of course, when I was in Europe, and cooking on a stove with solid iron burners, I also loved the geometric optical illusions that a drop of water would form as it came to a boil.

I'm still a little kid at heart. ;-)
