Just Say No (Don't Leave Links on Blogs!)
Unless your friend says you can, a VERY big no-no is leaving links on mine or others blogs... it is a well known and unwritten rule on Steemit. An example is this morning someone left a link to a fishy ass looking "ICO" on a friends blog which we both flagged because of the problem of phishing and spam on here. It is up to us to keep the waters clean or at least at a level where we aren't bogged down with having to "spank" others for not grasping this basic concept. (Insert Whip Crack Noise)
I get it...your friend has a great post you want me to see and whoever is following my blog. Don't be the type to just shove it inside my blog without at least asking me first. I'm wondering if I start leaving links to Viagra Ads in return how fast that behavior will stop. There is my whine for the day until I actually have Shiraz later. Bottoms Up!
Three Other Things That Are More Annoying then me not having a "Niche" on here :P
Commenting without Upvoting
Forgetting people who helped give you a hand up on here once you make it BIG
Getting me involved in projects then just dropping them or asking me to work with you and never following through (happens all the time and it normally is a waste of time, have a biz plan ready to rock before blowin' smoke up my arse)
I sincerely hope this helps some newer users who don't know some of the "etiquette" on here. There are not exactly a lot of rules but pimping out others on my blog never really cranks my gears in the right way. ;)

100% upvote from a friend
thank you
Hello @battleaxe! This vote comes courtesy of @thedolphincocoon by way of @sykochica. Love @poeticsnake & @thebugiq.
<3 you all ROCK, thanks so much for the support
i dont like that either!! that is a INSTA FLAG!
Depends on the person but if someone has been here long enough to know better then they already know the risks with blasting their ads on others pages, fo sho
Best is when a comment is left and then an army of upvote bots just upvote the comment ;)
lol
Ahhh commenting without upvoting. I wonder your thoughts about it in these situations:
The commentor’s upvote is worth $0.00. Until yesterday that was the case for me. I am just now at a $0.01. So I would upvote people but it wasn’t contributing to their bottom line anyway. And VP only goes so far before it needs to be replenished. Especially when your SP is so low you don’t have a slider. So the only way to interact as a new steemit user is to comment. For me a comment with no upvote is cool. A comment with a self vote and no upvote is not cool.
If your VP is hosed also the only way to interact or support something is via a comment. For you is it better not to comment?
Then there is the case where your vote might be worth 0-1 cent. And you see a great post that has already received $20 or $30 or more in upvote. You like what you see but using your vote power to give the author $0 seems a waste. Would you comment? Not comment? Use the vote?
A comment with no upvote is fine so long as the comment itself amounts to more than spam. A "Hey, great post!" comment is not acceptable...at least not without an upvote to go along with it. On the other hand, if it's something that contributes to the conversation, then great! At least that's my view on it. Though I think links are fine too so long as they are relevant to the conversation and again...not spam.
Thanks for sharing your perspective. Too bad there isn’t a spot on each person’s profile that says this is cool with me, this isn’t. ☺️
good point, is why I write pieces like this from time to time to sort of refresh the fact that there is no official "guide" on what goes or doesn't.....according to the individual
The platform allows it so to me "officially" it is ok...as long as it isn't spam. I mean sometimes in a discussion a link is desirable to show a source or for a variety of other reasons. I don't really understand why anyone would be opposed to a link if it is relevant to the conversation. That wouldn't have even occurred to me.
true ....but this platform allows a lot of stuff
It's up to the person what the like or don't.....guess I'm just saying I don't , lol
I was supposed to comment about commenting but you nailed it. There is no point in interacting then if all we wanted is to be upvoted. If I am new member and came across this blog (after learning about VP), it would be discouraging to engage if upvoting is all we seek especially there is no explanation why we need to comment and upvote.
Helpful.
I have been leaving links in comments. Relevant to the post, but without permission. Just because I felt it was important. Post hijacking is a highly selfish move. Thanks for the eye opener this morning.
not everyone newer knows this but some absolutely do and some will just go at you on it.... A lot of times if you can ask the person some will be cool with it but it's like throwing up a billboard on your neighbors yard in the middle of the night, lol....glad it was of some help :) <3
Yeah it's a little bizarre to me as well. Even if you have no voting Power as its been exhausted you can still Vote and it registers you as voting. That happened to me all the time when I had little SP.
Now that I have a decent amount, I get carried away and cannot stay above 50% voting power lol
Very well said. I especially like your point about commenting without upvoting. That can be so... deceitful and selfish.
I like when people say they've upvoted me and haven't but the beauty of our comments is that usually we can lay it out how we see fit, sort of self corrects, lol
I love to learn and have fun at the same time, and this mission was accomplished in this post. If I like a post after reading it, I usually upvote it first and then I write a comment. By the way sometimes I go to the Votes tap to make sure I did vote, I click the drop down arrow and the votes list pops up, when there are many votes you get at the end of the voting list something like this: ......56 more . Is it possible to see who those 56 more votes are? It is always gray out, so I can't click on that to see the rest of the votes. Thanks
Whenever I see that type of ish, I give it a good slap too.
