The dairy game- Friday challenge- Shopping day

We went to Costco for shopping yesterday, the total cost is $289.82. Sounds like a lot, but come on, this is Costco, I don't remember last time when we spent less than $150 at Costco... Esp before we transitioned into vegetarians, with meat and seafoods... oh boy, glad with current new diet. :)

The list includes:

Fruits:

You may be surprised by how many fruits we buy for each week. We just love fruits. As vegetarians, we have oatmeal as breakfast with blueberries and bananas. Watermelon usually is not on our list, but this time, Costco has a serving of 2 small ones as a package. Good size, plus 90F, good combo!

  • White peaches
  • Blueberries
  • Navel Oranges
  • Watermelons
  • Bananas

Veggies- again, as vegetarians, veggies are one of the must have. Avocados have good fat, and is good for home made veggie burgers.

Nuts- We like variety of nuts for breakfast. Usually we have a mixture of cashews, pistachio and Macadamia nuts after having oatmeals and fruits.

Ice creams and chips- Man, you can't imagine how much ice creams and chips we consumed during the pandemic... I am not used to be a sweet fan, but after staying home for so long, just have to have it! Let me worry about weight later on. We bought Mochi ice cream and Haagen-Daz. Yum!

Croissant- We really enjoy the butter croissant from Costco. Goes very well with avocados and beyond meat for a quick lunch.

Hangers/toothpaste- well, when you crave for so much sweets and snacks, you gotta have healthy teeth... and with most of the time at home, it leads you to wonder if re-organizing your closet and re matching the hangers is something that you can easily make change to your house. Here you go, 50 hangers and 3 packs of toothpaste!

Due to pandemic, the traffic at Costco was not as heavy as it used to be. But still pretty good amount of people. Some items which were running out like toilet papers, hand sanitizers etc, can now be easily found, no need to stock up. In MA, we are entering 2nd phase of economy re-open. Starting from Monday, people is able to dine inside at the restaurant. But am wondering how many people are ready to go back? At least for me, it will take a very long time to consider dining out again, even though I do miss it! Dining out is to relax and enjoy, not worrying whom around you may have the virus!
