My third day of the diary game is also dedicated to the care of my terrace.
Spring is over and summer knocks strongly on the doors. It is therefore necessary to replace many corners of my terrace and many plants that, after the spring period, have ended their flowering.
One of the first flowers that require care right now are freesias.
The fragrant and colorful flowers of freesias are all wilted and in their place there are now long dry leaves that give a feeling of disorder in the garden and which must be remedied.
Freesias are very fragrant and beautiful flowers of various colors (white, yellow, pink, purple, red ...) and their cultivation and development takes place by planting, in the autumn, bulbs that can also be easily purchased in supermarkets.

Their cost is not very high and so every year I buy bags of bulbs that I plant inside the pots on the terrace in a rather messy way and chasubles. Where there is a place ...
The spring effect is always unexpected and unpredictable. In short, I let the spontaneity of nature do a lot, but every now and then it takes over and therefore you have to check.
In general, at the end of the freesias bloom, I never remove the bulbs from the pots but this time I want to try to do what every good gardener should do every year.

In fact, you should always remove the bulbs from the pots at the end of flowering, move the soil of the pots, remove the roots and dry leaves, let the bulbs dry in the sun and then place them in a dry environment.
In the autumn season the new bulbs (they will also have grown new ones) will be ready to be replanted in the pots and thus to give the new blooms of the fragrant and colored freesias.

This is the natural cycle that must be followed and therefore, in the afternoon, I spent some hours to perform these operations on the terrace taking advantage of a not too hot day.
The equipment to use is simple: hoe and some containers for storing earth, the bulbs to be left to dry in the sun for a few days, and a bag for throwing dry leaves on the dry roots that are in the middle of the earth.

Very easy and, above all, relaxing.
The care of greenery, is a well-known thing, contributes to giving balance and serenity to those who practice it and therefore it is an activity that produces health in our body.
And then it allows us to cultivate the beauty of flowers. And this is very important.
