That Feeling When...
Your very first shift in the ER included a STEMI (Heart attack), a combative patient (required restraints), and a gunshot wound (not a trauma center)... Along with all the other "normal" ER stuff like uncontrollable diarrhea, sprained ankles, etc...
I need a drink......
You earned it. I will drink one right now in your honor. On a serious note, you should be proud of yourself for sticking it out and returning for another shift. A lot of people just can't hack it and the world needs more people who can get important stuff done.
A lot of people don't realize how stressful it is working as a healthcare provider. Spending all day handling crises and managing others' pain and injuries is very taxing physically and mentally. Hang in there!
