Haejin has direct control over the ranchorelaxo account's voting ability. There already is no middle man.
I think that's still in dispute, but it sure looks like it's probably one person. In which case the blockchain is rewarding him for talking to himself.
If the community can remove his rewards, then we will know if steem does have its "proof of brain" mining
