Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃🌻
I have always heard that Thanksgiving is celebrated but today I decided to do some research and know a bit about this beautiful tradition. From what I read it is a tradition dating back to 1621 when a group of settlers from Plymouth nowadays Massachusetts. They decided to share a meal with wampanoag Indians to celebrate the autumn harvest and that they taught cultivation and hunting techniques.
But it was until the year 1863 in the middle of the civil war that President Abraham Lincon proclaimed Thanksgiving as a national holiday. But it was officially established by the congress until the year 1941 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed Thanksgiving as a holiday.
The traditional thing is to give thanks for everything you have and ask for blessings for all. The emblematic dish of Thanksgiving is the baked or roasted turkey that is almost always accompanied by a salad.
Thanksgiving day the big shops remain closed. Tomorrow, Friday, the traditional "Black Friday" takes place where citizens go out to buy things that are in offers.
Today I want to take a little of my time to thank for my life and all that I have. Living in Venezuela has turned uphill, but even so there are so many wonderful things to give thanks for.
This year is about to end but it has been a year of many changes but above all of achieving goals. And for that I am extremely grateful. Yesterday I celebrated one more year of my mom's life and that makes me very happy.
And I am very grateful for little angels who have come into my life and made it much better. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
