Human computer interaction(HCI) is an evolving technology and i believe the speech recognition mode of communication between machine and computer is most ground breaking technological advancement that is positively benefiting our society.

The benefits are enormous with many possible scenarios that can be thought of, for example, speech recognition can assist physically disabled people in connecting with the world through computer, now they can simply give voice command to computer to do what is required, such as calling someone for help or adjusting the lighting, temperature etc. of home. Other than that, the navigation technology is one of most widely used application in cars that allow people to use hand-free voice commands to let car navigate drivers to destination just by voice. This technology has enhanced road safety as people do not have to get distracted while feeding destination in navigation applications.

The another SRT's is most practical application is speech-to-speech translation that is bringing the world closer; now people can go around the world with no fear of communication barrier by using this technology in their phones.

On commercial scale too speech recognition as proved its potential, as people now do not have to rely on scripts to watch shows filmed in foreign language but instead computers now recognize the language and translate it to language of choice, this advancement has enabled shows and films producers to show their content in every part of world, hence increasing profits more than ever.

The future is very promising for Speech recognition mode of human-computer interaction, and I feel confident saying that in coming years, society will see more dependency and reliability on this technology for bringing more useful and positive changes.
