I am excited, my gut feels like when I discovered Julian Assange, these Steemit guys are modern time heroes. And they sure know their technology and how to use it for the betterment of Society - True Merit is back amongst us

Before I could let my online social friends and followers (who may want to keep following me) into this Digital Cultural Revolution. I needed to have established my first very own — blockchain identity — in order to publish on https://Steemit.com@patriciakm ... my first post… this very letter to you 😃 

ACTION

Over the last few days, in parallel, I have also been planning my Exit from the old enslaved Internet Economy.  A step by step process of re-establishing all my external communications leads to closing down my old social accounts including free email providers, free online storage accounts, free chatting platforms, etc… with one goal reclaim “me” 

Me as “patriciakm" aka "patricia koplin-matke” along with my personal contribution to networks where my stuff has been living online, migrating and morphing without my permission onto other sites, cashing in on my profiles, posts and pictures. Yet all i have posted over the years does not fully belong to me… the author 😢  

Yes to start with we all knew that we were to be “used” through the — free to use — internet gifts, we knew how to dodge the worse and tried to keep sane under the constant flow of propaganda. These days the abuses are just no longer bearable; Those annoying social media functions that do not respond or process data in an erratic way, the disappearing posts and comments, the punishments, the censorship! and the shameless exploitation of the free-rider! 

Have you noticed of late how many of those free social platform providers are sending around “new rules” to be signed by you? These are rules of ownership of the content you put onto their servers! 

Time for Change

By having joined the Steemit blockchain community, I understand that I am also crossing over to Web 3.0...
Easily, painlessly, through this revolutionary free, generous, community-minded, reward-based social platform and I am embracing the very New Global Economy firing up as I write... 

Practically

- You post your work (multi-media platform allows text, graphics, videos, etc.) 

- You assign a Category (Opinions, Art, How-to's, Animals, Politics, Science, etc.)

- You can also tag your post: There are also Tags to use for your posts: I am not sure who creates them yet 😉 *

*And it does not matter to me at this stage either, because I have been researching on these guys ever since I saw my first video of this new system.
Blown away, I was, at all the possibilities and I felt my inner voice say: < this is the arrow head that was needed towards a fairer, brighter, informed, uncensored, creative, community based Global New? … Truth?? **

Please note:

Account:

Steemit will allow you - One User Account - 

- verified through a code they SMS you to your phone. 

- You are then sent a blockchain password to use to validate your account 

- Your new account (and its content) is NOT deletable, editable from the database EVER…

Creation:

To create as soon as possible your favorite Steemit user name, you need to:

- choose your own user name 

- enter one of your currently working email address (i chose to not use any @gmail or @yahoo etc. You may have an email address on one of your own servers if you have a website online?)

NB:  several languages other than English are also available and more are added as we speak, i am sure.

Validation:

From then on, the email address you have supplied at signing up will only be used by Steemit admin, the phone number you supplied will no longer be needed (in case you loose that phone etc…)

🚨 Security

Only your user name and password will get you back in! 

If you loose your password… you have lost user access to this identity for ever (as far as i understand it at this stage) but your posts will remain indefinitely in Web 3.0 and be readable by you or anyone else online. You will have to create a new user, a new email and a new phone number to get back in. 

Note: My next post will describe another option, I ended up using to secure my chosen user name (aka: patriciakm)

- well written, easy to follow step by step procedures,

- users comments and posts

- other tools which can be used

- new functions (added every day to match all FB’s, Twitter’s, Instagram’s and other social platforms I don’t even follow)

- and of course all the exciting posts in the different categories…  

A FEW WORD OF WARNING: 

! Content is Uncensored: I have already seen on Steemit, titles that can make your blood curl. You do not have to go there though… Tag: pizzagate and titles such as

! There will be Steemians of all boards, cultures, persuasions, and also some “agents” sniffing around… Looking for trouble hahaha… There is a steemit function allowing to mute the offensive users to your personal standards of dignity and respect,  😉 Reading a few Steemit posts, I have already had to swallow the bitter taste of some users trying as they would on any social media, to create controversy, often on a subject they do not understand and in derogatory language as well! Having read the Steemit FAQs, i do not worry much about these people for… wait for it… There are “Steemit Whales” who oversee to this kind of poor user behaviour…

Please my friends, do not “award” undeserving posts, even if they are your friends or followers, in time and with use this platform will sort out the “real" from the “pretended”. 

In my opinion, the real deal is not to try and build your SteemPower on the basis of greed by creating quick - media like - catchy headline titles that end delivering mediocre content such as "clickbaits" 

Listen to your heart, listen to your inner voice, post about your passion and your SteemPower will grow and your Steem Wallet as well 😃  Magically so 😃
