You can't post directly from your own computer :) You need to upload the image somewhere first and then post the hyperlink to it. Many people here use steemimg.com which is hosted by one of our members.

Thanks for the tip!! I also figured out how to post .gif images.. super happy about that as I didn't think it was possible!
