@greeneyedgirl this post was me researching bid bots. A bid bot is an account you can pay steem currency to and it was vote on your post/comment. Depending on the amount of steem power they have and the percentage of the vote you get from them (as divided up by others who also bought the vote) you get a payout. So in some cases you can actually earn more than you pay for the vote. People say it is a way to get your posts noticed.
This particular note is me working out whether a vote after 7 days gives a payout.
