Testing how Steemit and cli_wallet handle very long permlinks. To start off I will make this title long. Steemit doesn't like very long titles. But apparently 200 characters is just fine with Steemit.
I tried titles with length over 205 and got "Transaction broadcast error" which I have to assume has to do with how Steemit forms the permlink?
Interesting. So apparently Steemit cut off the permlink derived from my title to 60 characters which makes it impossible to get a permlink larger than 255 using their reply permlink naming scheme even if your account name was 16 characters long because of the depth limit of 5. So I will generate a much longer permlink for this comment using the CLI, which was what this comment was generated with.
Edit: This comment was edited with Steemit successfully. The permlink for this comment is 227 characters long. Which makes the permlink of a reply to this comment generated by Steemit exactly 251 + <account_name_length> characters long. That means account names with length over 4 (which mine is) should in theory have problems replying to this comment from steemit.com right now.
Yup. That's what happened: "Transaction broadcast error"
Someone with an account name with less than 5 characters try replying to this comment.
