Terrorism Has Been On The Rise Across The World: Suggest How It Could Be Stemmed?
Before shedding light on this topic with my opinion, I would like to remind you of some terrorist attacks that shattered the consciousness of the entire world.
- 2001 world trade center attack which cost the lives of many alongside sowing the seed of fear in every nook and corner of the planet earth.
- Boko haram, ISIS, Taliban, and kind of extremist groups restlessly killing innocent people including small children for the sake of implementing their ideologies. Syria, Iraq, and some African countries remain their haven.
- A couple of years ago, more than 140 innocent school children were killed in a terrorist attack in Peshawar, a city in Pakistan. It was among the most brutal attacks carried out by terrorists ever.
- It is no secret that millions of people from many countries have turned refugees and hundreds and thousands of them lose their life on their way to seek asylum in other countries!
- Many girl children are raped and brutally assassinated for no particular reason!
- People live in fear round the clock in so many regions in the world!
If we closely look at all these instances, we can come at one particular conclusion that the reason behind all these attacks was pure religious extremism. Although many other factors can be attributed as the reason behind the existence of terrorist groups and terrorism itself, we can't forget the fact that it is religion that plays the major role here. At least, religion is the tool to carry out any kind of brutality one could!
Eradicating terrorism is not something we as individuals can do. These groups operate with the backing of so many world powers. that pretend to fight terrorism They have immense support from big whales throughout the world. They make the use of religion as their tool . I am not aware of any tool powerful than the religion. With the name of religion and fear, one can do any atrocities they wish.
Complete stemming of terrorism can never happen unless world governments take steps to uproot its main causes. ie, social uncertainties prevalent!
- High rate of unemployability in any given country causes the educated youngsters to get frustrated on the state and the society they are part of and tend to turn against it..
- lack of rational thoughts is another big cause. Governments must encourage rational thoughts and activities in a large scale.
- Scrapping extreme religious practices will for sure help in the process of mitigation of terrorism. If you look at the available statistics,, it is religious states that produces a lot of turbulence.
- It is evident that in the countries where people are financially and socially well off lead a peaceful life. So it must be there in the priority list of a country to keep its citizens blissful.
By following all these steps we can for sure uproot the causes of extremism and thereby terrorism.
