Seems for many countries business interest can get in direct contest with national interests. There also seems to be a reputational issue connected to these matters. I am always hoping that these things are due to commercial companies using their lobbying efforts to get these kind of deals into place. Would be quite weird if it's done by the exact same people as throwing up the sanctions one day. And then dealing with same issue countries making deals the next.

Yes I agree, you have to ask what is going on, if these decisions are made by the same people, and why it's allowed to continue. Perhaps there's a deeper issue going on. Whatever it is, something is definitely wrong.

Don't forget Qatar has some of the largest gas reserves in the world, as does Iran...it seems that there is a major conflict of issues and a lot of bullying going on. The US continues to supply military equipment to support it's own back yard industries...because if it did not where would all those so called jobs go? How much profit do the US arms suppliers make from all this activity? If everyone stopped buying and selling weapons, perhaps things will get better. Whilst commercial interests are a priority over everything else it seems a vicious cycle will continue. Make Peace great again!

Yes, the military industrial complex has become a very large animal, with a veracious appetite for war, that must be fed somehow, but the cost is more than just money. But how to stop it? If people continue to pay into it, then it will only grow larger. I'm with you, make peace great again!
