My view on territorial disputes.

I support Argentine Antarctic territorial claims just because of the Albatross Flag. And cause Argentinians have an actual standing community and had citizens born there. But mostly because they had the courage to embrace a mighty albatross on their flag instead of the more obvious but derpier penguin choice.

As usual, Argentina's main competition in the area is Britain. But British flags are boring. Always have a Union Jack in corner. Predictable. Not creative. So UK doesn't deserve that little slip of Antarctic that's supposed to become habitable soon because of climate change.

But I'll say this for the Brits; at least they usually HAVE flags, albeit unoriginal ones. The very moment a British sailor so much as glimpses a shred of land over the horizon (whether a new discovery or been occupied thousands of years) a brand new flag spontaneously materializes out of thin air to represent the colonizers who always follow in short order.

In my opinion, that's literally what the Falkland Islands question boils down to. Also why I support Britain over Argentina in that dispute. The Falkland Islands Flag is even worse than your standard Union Jack ripoff because it has a dumb sheep in the center... seriously? But they've had one since 1876 to show for themselves. How does Argentina expect anyone to take their sovereignty claims seriously if they ain't even got a legit flag to represent the Malvinas? Y'all had 200+ years to think of one. You've only yourselves to blame for losing that war to Margaret Thatcher back in the 80s.

Actually, I think that's how I'll inform all my territorial dispute opinions from now on. 100% which faction has the better flag for the territory in question. Off the top of my head, my international policy endorsements are as follows:

Habitable Antarctica: Argentina ✔️
Falkland Islands: Britain ✔️
Kashmir: Pakistan ✔️
Taiwan: Republic of China (Taiwan) ✔️
Western Sahara: Morocco ✔️
Kosovo: Serbia ✔️ unless you include Albania then Albania ✔️
And I'd love to support a two-state solution but, honestly, Palestine needs a better flag if it want to compete with Israel's striking banner. So Israel ✔️

Also, I support Puerto Rican statehood. Theirs would be a fine addition to our national line-up. But Washington DC? No way you get Elevated to full statehood with that ghastly, trite three-starred snooze-fest you got going on, there. Do better.
