Distinqt Trader Joe's Reposado Tequila Review
Tequila is barred none my favorite drink.
It's not only for the feeling that you get and pleasant energy that can come from a few good drinks but for the flavor that lies within it.
Recently, I decided to try the Trader Joe's Reposado.
Yes, I know, a grocery store brand tequila.
Although, I do need to say that Costco's Tequila Blanco resembles 1800 almost too well (I see you Costco.)
Anyways, this tequila is okay.
It's not the best reposado I've had, not surprisingly, but its also not the worst.
On a scale from Jose Cuervo (the worst) to Don Julio (this is a relative scale) this tequila resembles a harsher version of Espolon.
It has a good agave flavor, and doesn't seem to have too many fillers, but isn't as smooth as you would like.
From Tequila.net (1)
Distinqt Tequila Reposado is 100% Agave and comes from the El Viejito distillery located in the town of Atotonilco in the "highlands" of Jalisco, Mexico. This region is recognized, among other things, for having the best soil, water, and altitude to grow Agave plants, and of course for the quality of the tequilas produced in this region. Distinqt Tequila Reposado rests in used Whiskey barrels for under a year before being bottled.
For $22 it is probably best to go with Espolon.
Granted if you are a crazy Trader Joe's fanatic it will go well with a margarita or any cocktail containing Reposado tequila.
That's it for a quick tequila review.
Are there any that you think that I should try and review? Leave a comment below.
