Some Russian Business Owner Had A Party Thrown For Him On Top Of A Tepuy And The American Left Is Going KREI-ZI Over It

I just can't deal with how wild and ethnocentric is the left's approach to any scandal breaking anywhere. They just have no understanding of local contexts, so they fill any gaps in with their very limited understanding of the world.

First, some concepts that are important for understanding this situation better:

1- Tepuys are the oldest geological formations on earth and have pretty fragile and unique ecosystems. It's illegal to climb them or even walk on them.

2- Venezuelan indigenous tribes have been abused forever. The social democrats were better than the socialists in that they allowed the indigenous peoples to have some control over the land and to profit from tourism, even if they were abandoned in every single other respect. The socialists stripped indigenous peoples of any rights and poisons and kills them to practice illegal mining and other illegal operations like drug production and transportation, as well as terrorist activities.

So, a few days ago a Russian business owner who's also a leftist had a birthday party thrown at the top of one of these tepuys. They destroyed the ecosystem of this tepuy to make it a fancy party. They used helicopters to get there as most of the guests are old hags who can't climb up a set of stairs unassisted. So, upon learning the news, the American left became more outraged at this than at the millions of Venezuelans abused, oppressed, starved to death and displaced over the course of over 23 years and they are COMMENTING online with a very limited understanding of the situation. They don't even know who most of these people are.

And because they lack context and understanding, some of the comments are comedy gold.

He's Russian, so he's technically not your dreaded White Christian Conservative who just wants you not to kill your babies and not live off welfare. The rest are Latin Americans so again, technically not White in the strict sense of the word as it's understood in the US. But to American leftists, that they are not Black seems to be more important than the fact that they are wealthy leftists who got wealthy by oppressing people or by looking the other way when oppression takes place.

osmel sousa is CUBAN and is also a high profile pimp who's historically sold Miss Venezuelan pageants to wealthy men for sexual services. He's also very gay and a misogynist. If the American left got a hold of his comments on gay marriage, adoption and inner beauty, they'd cancel him harder than they've tried to cancel J.K. Rowling for defending women's rights.

Again, they are all technically not White. And slums all over Latin America are filled with people of all colors who have destroyed entire ecosystems to build shanty houses on public and protected land, but SOMEHOW this is more important. Well, what they did to that Tepuy is pretty despicable, but the hypocrisy of everyone getting outraged at this is beyond what's tolerable to anyone with a modicum of honesty in their body. Why would these caviar American leftists expect their own to respect nature and sacred indigenous places when they advocate for the destruction of private property and land whenever it fits them? When they justify the poor camping on the streets of LA and San Francisco and pooping on sidewalks just because they are poor? When they want to strip Americans of they guns so they are as defenseless as law abiding people in Chicago, Detroit and LA? That's cognitive dissonance or hypocrisy or both.

Oh, but they do! And they contaminate with tons of noise, but this was special.

Someone said it like it is, and they got ignored, of course.

And then this:

Actually, during the great scarcity that the Venezuela government specially crafted to oppress us, people were ordered to plant their own medicine. I remember seeing a woman politician boasting about planting and harvesting her own acetaminophen (what's in tylenol) to treat dengue fever. I've had dengue fever and I wouldn't want to drink some herbal tea to treat it, but to shove a bunch of tylenol down my throat to try to lower the temperature, which is pretty damn high with that virus. But that's how it was. They also told people suffering from high blood pressure to plant their own medicine and find natural alternatives, and of course a bunch of elderly people died as a result. So no, they actually don't want us to have access to modern medicine. On the contrary. They'd be happy if we died eating poop to treat IBS.

To sum it all: the outrage is right and befitting the situation, but the way American leftists are spreading the word makes it look like it was damage caused by some White American Capitalist when it was a Russian and Latin American LEFTISTS who did it. It's a great disservice to us Venezuelans when you get mad and start interpreting our tragedy within the limits of your narrative because it helps the real culprits to hide the actual reason for all this abuse. And like I said before, there's the fact that millions have died, been murdered, tortured, abused or displaced for years and that people only seem to care about THIS ONE INSTANCE of ecological destruction, when the Arco Minero has been operative for years, and when indigenous peoples have been oppressed by the leftist government of chavez and then maduro for decades.

That is, please EDUCATE YOURSELVES before you try to express outrage about our current events because you really do us no favors when you speak with the limited understanding of your culture and narrative.
