14-time Grand Slam Champion and World No. 1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia yesterday secured the ATP year-end No. 1 ranking for the fifth time in his illustrious career and created history by becoming the oldest year-end No. 1 ever, breaking Spain's Rafael Nadal's record.

Novak also created history by becoming the first player ever to be ranked outside of the Top 20 at some point in the year and still managing to end the year as the No. 1!

Novak is now tied with Switzerland's Roger Federer with five year-end No. 1 finishes. Only America's Pete Sampras has more year-end No. 1 finishes than both Novak and Roger. With Novak intending to play tennis for at least four more years, it seems very likely that he will break Pete's record.
