Lucas Pouille is making a really bad 2018 season. But he played lately a bit better, winning a 5 sets important match during the Davis Cup at home. The level was quite better, and I think it will give him some confidence about his shots. On top of that, he will also play at home during this tournament in France and it has great influence on him.
Since Croatia won the semi-final, the Davis Cup final will take place in France again in November. All the french players want to take part in it and will play all the tournaments until then really seriously to be selected by Yannick Noah for the final. This will be an additional motivation for Pouille today.
