Rafael Nadal wins US open, approaches Federers record

Any tennis fan will be well aware of the longstanding rivalry between Federer and Nadal, as both compete for the overall record of most grand slam wins. The recent win by Nadal in the US open takes his tally to 19, whil Federer is now only one ahead on 20.

This was Nadals 4th US open victory, where he overcame Daniil Medvedev in a duel that lasted nearly 5 hours.

Nadal has been known as the 'king of clay' winning the french open a remarkable 12 times! Federer does much better on grass, and was nearly unbeatable at one stage winning 8 Wimbeldon titles.

I feel that it is a matter of time before Nadal takes the lead, aa he is only 33 wheras Federer is 38 and has been more inconsistent over the last few years.

I love the rivalry between these two. I have always been a Federer fan, but love seeing records being broken!
