David and the first temple: You are not to build a house for my Name, because you are a warrior and have shed blood. 1 Chronicles 28:3

The Bible in the First Book of Chronicles tells how were the preparations for the construction of the first temple in Jerusalem, the resting place of the Ark of the Covenant.
The Aristocracy of judges and the first monarchy of Israel with Saul, despite divine guidance, had not managed to consolidate the borders of Israel, and it was up to David with his ingenuity and courage to achieve this task. Once peace was achieved, David was able to dedicate the nation's resources to the most ambitious religious project to inspire and motivate all Israelites, the construction of the most sacred place in Jerusalem and Israel.
The Bible tells us that it was up to David to make the preparations for the construction of the temple, and to Solomon, his son, to build the colossal project. God had chosen Solomon as the builder of the holy temple because Solomon was a wise man, that is, a man of peace and not of war; by God's decision, Solomon was a person consecrated to the task.
The Bible tells us that King David, before abdicating in favor of his son Solomon due to his age, called the entire assembly of Israel to announce what the Lord had decided about the construction of the temple; because with the project a wise teaching had to be fulfilled: "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps" Proverbs 16:9.
These were the words of King David before the construction of the temple:
"King David rose to his feet and said: ´Listen to me, fellow Israelites, my people. I had it in my heart to build a house as a place of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, for the footstool of our God, and I made plans to build it. But God said to me, ´You are not to build a house for my Name, because you are a warrior and have shed blood.´" 1 Chronicles 28:2-3.
