Only mutants, with altered human forms, remained on the surface of the planet, yielded to a cyber-attack not expected so immediately, but announced for some time. For this, the humans of the resistance migrated to another plane of the multiverse.
As implausible as it may seem, the cyborgs ruled the earth and, in their race for more power, forgot that the human is not only brain, blood, and bones. They controlled so much that they lost heart and became cold as black snow, even if they lived in ecosystems adapted to their high mental frequency. They forgot about God and became can gods from a world in decline, where nature ended and was built an artificial world that put an end to true humanity on the face of the earth
At first, many opted for the implantation of a cyber chip in their brains that would make them superhuman, but the greater the number of implants, the greater dehumanization, competence, and discrimination, according to the contribution of their capabilities to the Base, which was actually a dome Where the robots rule.
Those of us who resist, form a vibrating circle that summoned legions of lucerins that transmuted us and moved to an intermediate region between the surface of the earth and its center, a beautiful inner sky where we are no longer flesh, but semiangellic: energy harmonious and infinite.
Now, we are homolucerinos, a species in transition. Our soul preserves human learning and develops characteristics of beings of Light, based on Love as a fundamental energy network that connects us to Everything.
In this space, there are no mental limits, no low feelings, no diseases, no death. Evolution no longer includes a biological cycle: it is not born, it does not grow, it does not die. Now, you learn, share and support other forms of life, without directly intervening.
As human beings, we were wrong: Heaven is not high above, it is inside and it is concentric.

I sincerely enjoyed this approach to the prompt. The divergence of a species, the choices made, of advancement and technology, of power and money, against those who resisted, and chose heart and connection. I really like the idea of evolution moving beyond the biological, it grows into a really thought provoking story - the different paths humanity walks as they grow into something else, and the lesson that they would send back… if they could… maybe they did ;)
This story is more like a parable for our future generations. Scary in the sense that it can be entirely plausible. Even today heart is relegated to a place in the corner of the world psyche as money and luxury or even the competition to survive take precedence.
Humans are loosing Humanity.
