RE: The Last Forest [my entry to Tell a Story to Me]
You create such a wonderful caricature in Mr Crapy, the personification of greed and consumption, his disregard not just for nature, but equally for other people, he feels like the worse of mankind rolled into one. Yet he still mirrors an extreme version of the mindset of some powerful people who equally think only of themselves in the moment. The way you present Scott, trying to reason with him, walking the line between agreeing with him and trying to point things out yet equally too whipped to really say it, I suspect the dynamic between these two is scarily realistic, and it catches the reader, putting them in Scott's position. There are people don't listen to reason, or care about retribution or the consequences - as long as they get rich, is there any way to stop them, regardless of what it is they want? A very thought provoking story <3
