ASUS announces two 14-inch and 15-inch ZenBook Flip laptops
ASUS announced the ZenBook Flip 14 (UX461) and ZenBook Flip 15 (UX561) converters, two powerful new models.
The ZenBook Flip 14 features a 14-inch NanoEdge touchscreen that supports ASUS Pen's stylish pen. The ZenBook Flip 15 is incredibly compact and slim thanks to the NanoEdge 4K UHD Touch Screen with a screen / body ratio of 79%. Both models are equipped with Intel Core i7 processors of the eighth generation, have up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of PCIe x4 SSDs.
Asus ZenBook Flip 14
Measuring only 13.9 mm in thickness, the ZenBook Flip 14 features a unique combination of the eighth generation Intel Core processor and NVIDIA Pascal graphics. The laptop has an aluminum case with a 14 inch touch screen and a very narrow frame of only 7.15 mm, which has allowed the construction of a compact body that does not exceed the size of the 13-inch models. The screen reproduces 100% of the sRGB color spectrum, has a 1000: 1 contrast and image enhancement technologies. Eye Care Mode, included in ASUS Splendid, protects the user's view by reducing blue light levels by up to 30%.
The versatile 360 ° ErgoLift hinge lets the screen turn 360 degrees, making your laptop a generous screen tablet and a Microsoft Windows operating system.
The ZenBook Flip 14 uses a 512GB SSL PCIe x4 storage drive and 16GB of RAM to provide the smallest access times and high speeds for data transfer. The lithium-polymer battery of 57Wh provides the energy required for the whole day, the autonomy of this model reaching 13 hours. Furthermore, the ZenBook Flip 14 can recharge up to 60% of capacity in just 49 minutes. At the connectivity level, this model has two 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A USB ports, an HDMI port and a microSD card reader.
Asus ZenBook Flip 15
Based on the new Intel Core CPUs and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics, the ZenBook Flip 15 is the most powerful Flip. The ZenBook Flip 15 is up to 30% faster than the old UX560 series, due to the performance of the Intel processor and the DDR4 RAM that has a capacity of up to 16GB.
The GeForce GTX 1050 video card is based on the NVIDIA Pascal architecture, translating the graphics performance of a desktop into the compact case of a laptop. The laptop incorporates dual storage that allows the user to choose a hard drive up to 2TB and a 512GB SSI PCIe.
The ZenBook Flip 15 features a 15.6-inch UHD NanoEdge touch screen, a thin frame and a screen / body ratio of 79%. It is attached to the laptop body through a double hinge with a complex mechanism made of special steels that resists over 20,000 shutters / openings. The matte screen reduces unwanted reflections and increases user comfort. In addition to the 4K resolution, the ZenBook Flip 15 provides support for ASUS Pen and Windows Ink, making it a true creation tool.
The ASUS Pen offers a natural feel, has an elegant aluminum design and sees 1024 pressure levels for intuitive control.
The ASUS Golden Ear team and Harman Kardon specialists have collaborated in creating the new generation of ASUS SonicMaster technology. The ZenBook Flip 15 has two high quality, high quality speakers powered by a two-channel amplifier to deliver powerful and immersive, crisp crystal clear sound at any volume level.
Price and availability
The two series of convertible laptops were presented for the first time on IFA 2017 and will be available this fall. We do not have details about their price.
