To live on Mars we will need to bring a whole robotic squad!

The robotic miners on Mars would built underground facilities for various industrial tasks, while people would live in dwellings above the surface of Mars.

Elon Musk has already said he wants to build the first permanent human colony on Mars and turn people into interplanetary species.
While he was responding to customer questions on Reddit, last night he revealed that in the SpaceX-in they also thought of what could people work there.

The colony should and will reach a stage in which it will be able to produce its own fuel for the return flight to Earth. The "Dragon capsules" would first find the places where it is easiest to draw water for chemical reactions, then the robotic spacecraft "Heard of Gold" would bring the main elements needed to produce a fuel plant, a human crew on the first mission would complete the base and the fule drive.

SpaceX plans then to double the number of flights during the ideal time of year, when Earth and Mars are closest. Musk believes that his Falcon 9 with a few new transformations and with proper maintenance could be use 'almost unlimited'.

SpaceX has previously announced that it could already in 2018 send the Dragon capsule that will test systems for landing and navigation, while the first manned mission to Mars would be sent in 2024. Musk also revealed last night that the first flight to Mars would start wit a crew of 12 people.
