Steemit has the potential to be a real virtual community bonded together by mutual help. True, clicking an upvote is easy and it's also true that almost no-one is making a living from Steemit posts. But it does get people into a habit of helping others out, in a way that is decentralized and organic.

If leveraged, the same habits will lead to mutual-help networks in the regular world: helping others get jobs and suchlike.
