Uber just sold it's China business to rival competitor Didi Chixiung for a 20% stake in the company:

And Apple recently invested $1 billion in Didi's taxi business, turning heads because the company is working on a car, codenamed Project Titan:

Apple is clearly up to something in cars. Morgan Stanley analysts are predicting the Didi investment won’t be Apple’s last, and in a review of Apple’s R&S spending found that from 2013 to 2015, Apple put more money into autos than the top 14 automakers combined: $5 billion vs $192 million. (Tesla, which is not one of the top 14, spent $144 million.)

China is pioneering the advancement of autonomous flying vehicles, interesting times.

Uber itself is working on an autonomous car project. So what happens to that

I think we could still see that in the States, but Uber doesn't like to own cars yet and may be hard to start manufacturing in China? Don't know
