Facebook and Telegram are planning to issue their own cryptocurrency

It is discussed that Facebook and Telegram are ready to issue their own cryptocurrencies for a long time. In 2019, the management of these companies will finally start to realize its plans.

The head of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg considered cryptocurrencies for a long time. There were constantly some messages about his interest in a particular company, and then, finally, it happened. Facebook negotiated with several exchanges about listing its own stablecoin connected with a basket of Fiat currencies at the beginning of the year. It is expected that the tokenization of Facebook will happen no later than July 2019.

There is no information about the name of the new cryptocurrency yet, but it is obvious that it will be used as the only possible internal payment mean for both Facebook and WhatsApp.
Popular messenger Telegram is also developing in this sphere. Before issuing its own cryptocurrency Pavel Durov’s company held an ICO for priority investors, which raised almost $ 2 billion. The new token will be called “Gram” and it can be used to pay for the same games, internal and external purchases, as well as to make donations for live broadcasts. The expected issue date of “Gram” is October 31, 2019.

By the way the opinion of Twitter’s head Jack Dorsey is very conservative because he continues to demonstrate the commitment to the bitcoin network, stating that Twitter does not plan to issue its own cryptocurrency. However, the Protocol of bitcoin microtransactions may appear in the messenger very soon.

It is also interesting that the cryptocurrencies of Facebook and Telegram will not correspond to the original ideas of the blockchain, because they will be strictly centralized.
