Asia develops RES
Analytical Norwegian company Rystad Energy, after a study stated that in 2020 in the Asia-Pacific region, investments in renewable energy will overtake investments in oil and gas.
However, among the countries of the region there is a country that was excluded from the forecast. It is China which invests much in the development of energy in all fields and is unlikely to support the large-scale development of RES.
So who was in the rating of Rystad Energy?
It includes those countries that have significant potential for the development of all types of renewable energy, including marine wind energy. Thus, in countries such as Australia, Vietnam, Taiwan and South Korea the excess of total capital expenditures on renewable energy projects compared to the costs of exploration and production of hydrocarbons is expected. As far as the forecasts are true next year, will be seen next year, but it is worth mentioning that these States have RES development goals included in the relevant energy strategies and provided with the necessary support from the local authorities.
