Apple Plans to Use Its Own Processors in Macs - Replacing Intel
Apple has announced that it plans on using its own processors in their MacBooks as early as 2020, there by moving away from Intel's processor.
It was 13 years when Paul Otellini (Intel CEO) partnered with Steve Jobs (Apple CEO) at the WWDC 2005, to announce the use of Intel's processor in all it's future Macs.
According to Bloomberg (Link Below), Apple is actually looking to move out in order to further integrate between its other portable devices that includes all iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and Apple TVs instead relying on Intel's processor.
Intel gets paid 5% of its sales from Apple and this news could be a big blow which has already responded negatively where Intel’s shares has dropped by 9.2%.
Further this move will also going tempt other manufactures into making their own processors and too move away from Intel.
Both the companies have declined to comment anything on this matter as of now.
Apple is already working on its new software platform named "Marzipan" which will make possible to run iPhone & iPad apps on Macs. It is set to release as early this year. We might see having all platforms together in the future.
Should we as users really care though? Obviously this is very big news and will have profound affects behind the scene. But do you think myself as a mac user will notice a difference if Apple stops using Intel?
It's a good thing for us users as it will benefit us in the future.
Gotcha . So like the assumption is that Apple's chips will be of higher quality than Intel?
Can't say but Apple is already designing it's own chip for iPhones which aren't bad.
