Hi all! In this post I will be sharing some ideas on what we can do on cybersecuirty threat on a company basis. Hope you enjoy :)

Solutions and measures for tackling cybersecurity threat

  1. Antimalware software
    Antimalware software is a solution to defence and tackle malicious intrusion. It could protect both computers and mobile devices. Normal security algorithm can also be implemented in Android phones to enhance the security on mobile devices.

  2. Ethical computer hackers (i.e. White hat)
    The white hat is an ethical computer hacker or computer security expert who tries to penetrate and test the security of an organization’s information system. They evaluate the security and evaluate the system by attacking the system. They attack the system and look for the bugs and vulnerable part of the system and let the organizations know in order to fix the problem. Ethical hacking may also email staff to phish for their password details, searching through bins and attempt to break into the account without noticing the target. Ethical hackers will also host cloned test systems or attack the system at out of business hours to avoid causing disastrous affect while successfully testing the vulnerability of the systems. Though the legality of undergoing such “ethical hacking” is questioned by some professionals and legal sectors.

  3. Strict network protocol to protect the system
    Internet connectivity is restricted to control the risk of intrusion and remote attack through the network. Some potential phishing website or unencrypted connection (i.e. non-https website) are prohibited to connect through the company’s network to lower the risk of malicious connections from outside the company.

  4. Blockchain as a solution to cybersecurity
    The blockchain has tremendous potential for a wide range of applications in the financial sector, ranging from basic transactions to complex financial derivatives implemented using smart contracts. While blockchain-based solutions can in principle be extremely secure, securing them requires careful attention to issues including where and how private keys are stored and used, the methodology for confirming transactions, and mechanisms for establishing and modifying how distributed systems obtain consensus. An additional issue in relation to cybersecurity in blockchain-based systems relates to mechanisms to identify, document, and recover potential losses arising from cyberattacks. A related challenge concerns accountability and liability given the distributed nature of the processing.
