The changing world we live in

in #technology7 years ago

When I attended a small technical college out of high school, one of the professor's made the statement, "the things you're learning now will be obsolete by the time you graduate". Gee, that really motivated me to complete the program and go deeper in debt for an obsolete curriculum. To be fair, the information was important to learn so we could understand the foundation of the next technology to surpass it, but that statement got me thinking.

If things were progressing at a rate to overtake current technology more and more quickly, then there must be a point far down this road where technology might develop to the point of learning and repairing on its own. This line of thinking led me directly to considering the drawbacks or even dangers to such a reality.

So, I am curious if you have considered these things as well and would like to start a conversation to see what other points of view people share on the topic. How do you see the world in 10, 20, 30 years?
