And I said, "Hey, what's going on?"

Take a moment with me and try an exercise in critical thought. Picture life where you live 40 years ago. If you weren't alive then, try to imagine what it was like based on what people who were alive have shared with you.

I can only speak to America because that is where I was raised. If you grew up in another part of the world I would be interested to know in the comments. So, in America that would be 1977, I believe the first Star Wars film was released that year. Movie rental stores, theaters, and drive-in theaters were prevalent. Noone owned a cell phone. If you needed to contact somebody, you had to call from a payphone on the street somewhere. If they didn't answer you left a message and waited. Sure, we wait now but with the advent of text messaging, we can deliver a note almost instantly. Nearly anyone carries a phone these days on them, but not primarily for phone use. Today, we can read the news or buy stocks or make a purchase with digital decentralised currency like Bitcoin.

So, that's a cursory overview of the exponential changes taking place. My question is, if you could live in an environment with primitive technologies or flash forward to the future, what would you choose?
