A profoundly useful post with lost of helpful information and interesting background. I've not heard of any of these services but I'm off to give Infogalactic a try right now.
If you're using Chrome or Firefox, a useful plugin to have on hand is InfoSextant:

It automatically redirects Wikipedia links to Infogalactic.
That's cool. It'll be interesting to compare the content of both sites as they diverge.
