5 products that Apple launched under Tim Cook’s leadership
Tim Cook certainly needs no introduction. He has been the CEO of Apple since 2011, after Steve Jobs resigned. And under his leadership, Apple has launched a number of new products. On his 57th birthday, we list down some of the innovative products that Apple has launched since Tim Cook became the CEO.
iPhone X
anniversary edition of the iPhone. The most expensive iPhone so far comes with a number of new features and it really does stand out. Apple iPhone X comes with a bezel-less edge-to-edge display and has an OLED screen. iPhone X's 5.8-inch screen is the company's highest resolution display with 2436 x 1125 pixels at 458 pixels per inch density (ppi).
Apple Watch
The first Apple Watch was initially launched in September 2014 along with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. There has been no looking back for Apple since then, and the company has gone ahead and added Apple Watch Edition, Apple Watch Series 2, Apple Watch Hermes, Apple Watch Nike+, and Apple Watch Series 3 to its smartwatch line-up. Apple's smartwatches earlier could only work while they were connected to the user's iPhone wirelessly. But this year when the company rolled out its Apple Watch Series 3, it announced that the watch can now work even when not connected to an iPhone.
AirPods
Apple AirPods were introduced by the technology giant in September 2016, along with the launch of iPhone 7. For those who don't know, you can listen to music on AirPods, wirelessly. AirPods also lets users access the company's digital assistant Siri by tapping gestures. Users can also change tracks and control volume by double tapping on the device. Removing them automatically pauses the music, thus saving battery life. They can be connected via Bluetooth to devices supporting iOS 10.2, macOS Sierra or watchOS 3 (and higher.) It also syncs automatically with iCloud and can also play music from any device (Android included) that has Bluetooth 4.0.
HomePod
The HomePod is a recent announcement. Apple unveiled its smart home speaker at the WWDC 2017 developers' conference. The HomePod is powered by Apple's digital assistant, Siri. It will be available in December this year and comes in White and Space Gray colour variants. Powered by an Apple A8 CPU, the 'HomePod' includes sensors that detect ambient noise and adjust the music output accordingly. Apple 'HomePod' works with Apple Music app and has the ability to sync all of the user's playlists. Users can even ask queries and can give voice commands even when the 'HomePod' is playing music.
AirPower
AirPower is a product that was announced along with the iPhone X this year. It is a wireless charging mat that can charge Apple Watch, iPhones and AirPods simultaneously.
