iPhone 8 will have 'Touch ID integrated into display'

 It seems that Apple has achieved what Samsung couldn’t. According to a new report, Apple has finally been able to integrate Touch ID fingerprint sensor directly into the display of its much awaited upcoming iPhone 8. 

 Quoting sources from Apple’s supplier Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), Chinese-language Economic Daily News claimed the company had apparently confirmed Apple’s achievement during a technology convention held in Taipei on Thursday.

 During the TSMC 2017 NA Technology Symposium, the Taiwanese company discussed how Cupertino-based tech giant has been able to forgo the physical home button on its upcoming by using “an optical fingerprint sensor to enable authentication directly on the screen”.  

 If the reports are true, it would come as a relief for Apple fans anxiously waiting for the tenth edition iPhone especially after reports that Apple has been struggling to find a viable solution to integrate the Touch ID sensor into display that overcomes the production challenges involved. The company has reportedly been trying to find ways to integrate fingerprint sensors directly into screens since June 2015. 

 Is this what the iPhone 8 may look like? 

 Further, the sources claimed that the new iPhones would also be equipped with “invisible infrared image sensors to enhance the functionality of the high-pixel camera” and to enable augmented reality functions. 

 Apple is widely expected to release the iconic iPhone 8 to mark the tech giant’s 10th year anniversary this year along with the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus, two phones that follow the tech giant’s traditional update cycle.
