The muscle car isn't dead, just different.

If you grew up in the 80's and 90's you may feel the muscle car is dead, because let's face it the cars being produced throughout these decades were anything but muscle cars. Cars being produced then where lucky to make 225 horsepower, so the muscle car certainly appeared dead, but it was only sleeping, and in the 2000s it was awoken from its slumber, and now the muscle car is better than ever! Not only do modern muscle cars have massive horsepower, but they also have some luxury, and they are loaded with technology, so let's take a look at some great muscle cars you can buy today.

Chevrolet Camaro SS

In 2010 Chevrolet returned with an all new Camaro, it had been gone for 8 years, so everyone was excited to see its return. The 2016 Camaro SS with the ZL1 produces a staggering 640 horsepower, there are other models, but when going for a muscle car horsepower is king, but don't think this is just a straight line monster, the new camaro can handle the corners, and to make things even better the 2017 is rumored to have 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. To balance out the massive horsepower from the supercharged V8 you also get suede covered interior for comfort, you also get a center display that allows you to make calls and send a receive texts, listen to music, all from the large touch screen, or by voice, oh and did we mention you also get 4g lte WiFi? That massive hood scoop serves a function also, it pulls heat from the engine to reduce life, so not only does it look great, but it has a function as well.

Shelby Super Snake

So if you have a new mustang and it just isn't enough you can take it to Shelby, and they will build a 750+ horsepower monster! This will push the price to 100,000 grand, which is crazy for a mustang, but that is massive HP, but if you're 38k short you can get the gt350r, which only makes 526 HP, but its extremely light, not much tech in this one, or comfort for that matter, its basically all motor, but if you want an amazing track car, this is a great choice.

The Hellcat

If you want full on insane, here's your car. This bad boy makes 707 horsepower! Now i know what you're thinking, you don't want a valet destroying your hellcat, because they got a bit ambitious with their right foot, well Dodge has thought of this, there is a specialized key that detunes the monster to a 300 horsepower cruiser. You will also get the nice leather interior with SRT badging everywhere, as well as a touch screen infotainment center, for sat nav, phone, radio, and your different tune options. You can choose between the Challenger, or the Charger, both make the same HP, but if you have kids the four door charger will be perfect, oh and the charger will also top out at 204 mph, making this the fastest grocery getter on the market!

So, there you have it proof the muscle car is alive and well, and its thriving.

Thank you! I think everyone loves a roaring V8, who cares if its 4am on a Tuesday, do a burnout and wake the entire neighborhood up!

I have to agree with @mallorca. This post is awesome!

Here's my baby... I'm saving up my Steem to get it to the Shelby specialists ASAP...

Thats a nice Stang. Some don't like the new design, but I personally love them, love that number plate also, let everyone know whats beneath the hood, or bonnet!

Yep, she's gorgeous. I'm not sure the hubby approves of the nickname I gave her - 'My Little Pony' ;)

Lol yea, some may not find that very "manly"

Well, she's mine and I decided she's not 'manly' - just like me :)

Nothing wrong with that. Its certainly a nice ride!

I like to see them and i like to hear them but i dont like to drive them . Dont get me wrong muscles are great cars but when it comes to cornering ....hmm. First that i have tried and first that can compete with europeans is GT350. Simply amazing car. Really good suspension , top level gearbox, excelent engine.

The camaro and the hellcat charger both handle well, not sure you get them where you are located? The challenger is more of a straight line monster.
